5 Dimensions of the Growth Mindset for Design Thinkers
What is a design thinker?
A design thinker is a customer-focused problem solving magician. Armed with a set of tools, the design thinker works to uncover What Is the problem, articulating the jobs to be done. Then, applying different perspective shifting tools, she delves into What If we did this or we did that, coming up with different new and novel ideas in solving the problem. Then, with a host of ideas, she seeks the customers' views to uncover What Wows. This allows her to finally identify the top ideas to implement, going to market to find out What Works.

Hence, through a series of activities from journey mapping, value chain analysis, perspective shifting, brainstorming, contra-logic, hypothesis testing and prototyping, the design thinker applies the scientific method to uncover what really is happening to co-creating the solution.

And at the centre of all this is the growth mindset. For without being driven by learning, bounce back, risk taking, forward and (lack of) pride, we will not be able to deliver on the promises of design thinking.
